Jay Blandford named a Triangle Business Journal Corporate Leadership Award winner

Raleigh, North Carolina – September 20, 2024 – Jay Blandford, Chief Executive Officer of Abrigo, has been recognized in the 2024 Corporate Leadership Awards by the Triangle Business Journal. This program, previously known as the CEO of the Year and C-Suite Awards, honors outstanding C-level executives for their leadership and contributions to the Triangle community. The 2024 honorees represent a diverse range of industries, including technology, life sciences, hospitality, and construction. 

Blandford joined Abrigo in 2016 as President of Sageworks, one of Abrigo’s heritage companies. After the retirement of former CEO Wayne Roberts, Blandford assumed the role of CEO in 2022. His emphasis on customer-centric innovation has garnered industry accolades, including recognition from The Digital Banker for data analytics and Datos Insights for commercial loan origination. Under his guidance, Abrigo has consistently been named a Best Place to Work and Top Workplace by publications like the Austin American-Statesman, Triangle Business Journal, and American Banker. Blandford’s leadership has also been reflected in the success of Abrigo’s largest ThinkBIG Conference to date. 

Under Blandford’s leadership, Abrigo has introduced several new innovative solutions, the latest being Abrigo Small Business Lending platform, which enables faster access to capital for small businesses, promoting economic growth across the U.S.. His direction has firmly established Abrigo as a leader in innovative solutions for community financial institutions. 

Beyond driving innovation, Blandford is deeply committed to creating a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. He established quarterly town halls with direct access to Abrigo’s executive team. The town halls have been instrumental in unifying employees with a shared sense of purpose. He was also instrumental in creating the Abrigo Champions Committee, which supports company culture by empowering employee resource groups. Blandford’s commitment to social responsibility is also evident in his involvement with community organizations such as Toys for Tots and Preservation North Carolina.
